Myth 1:
He should be very elite.
Fact:
Half of the population of this country is not educated, and mainly they are the ones who are not as productive and living under poverty. So a leader should be able to lead people, to include people, to motivate people. Because only that kind of leader can turn these 120 crore bellies into 240 crore hands. A super elite leader can only alienate and intimidate those people and can not get them on his side. He should be able to talk in people's language. English is not people's language, it may impress some self proclaimed elite, slaves of white superiority mentality, but it does not have the substance which can carry indians away.
(By the way these sort of people thinks of themselves highly when among normal crowd, just because they can speak english and as soon as their white bosses land in india, you can literally see their otherwise vestigial tails wiggling).
When he talks, he should talk passionately about something, and not read bluntly from some letter written by someone else. I do not understand that even after some terrorist attack, in which 100s of people die, these ministers need written speeches!!! I mean why? do you not feel anything from inside at all? or you are so dumb that you can't even express yourself?
Myth 2:
He should be young.
Fact:
Age doesn't have to anything with leadership. A minister needs discretion not fucking muscles. I do not understand that to become a leader where this criteria of age coming from? just because nobody in Congress family could grow old (due to various assasinations), doesn't mean that it changed the whole india. before this great tradition of assaisinations started in Congress family, all of the ministers from Congress were pretty old and today also they all hide behind those old leaders by the way.
I wouldn't want to vote for a person, who never gave a shit about country, assessed his qualifications(which are not enough to get him the job of a clerk in india), weighed his options, and suddenly he becomes the voice of indian youth. wow!!!
Myth 3.
He should be highly Educated.
Fact:
Bullshit!! Formal education does not have anything to do with leadership qualities. One minister can not be wise enough to design the policies for whole country, no matter how educated he is. It is always the whole panel, consisting of specialists, analysts, scholars, officers etc. who are the brains behind any policy. So please do not go to the formal education of a minister, that is almost worthless. Just for example, who is railway minister? :).
plus formal education doesn't gurantee anything, you see this satyam's situation which screwed inidan IT industry, and it happened when economic genius MMS was our PM. Price-Waterhouse-Cooper kept squirreling around the govt. for so long and nobody can do anything against them. The point is that a PM doesn't have time to use his education for everything. It is always the scholars behind the scenes who calls the shots.
and anyway, geeks are normally push-overs and therefore they have no business in going into politics where you have to be strong. They should be welcomed into civil services and that's enough for them.
There are so many other myths being deliberately spread for the benefit of a particular party, but please understand the above points with clear mind before you vote.
well your view is quite right in someways......but not completely.
ReplyDelete-->One thing you do not like congress at all.
-->Second thing, They are all same. Off course we have some good leaders in all the parties.
-->They read and give speeches as they have to take care of not creating controversies with what they speak. ( Remember Varun Gandhi :) )
In all a good article even then.....I like Lalu :)
Great post man ..... I think every 5 years of democracy should be followed by atleast 2 years of autocracy .... most probably like a Military Rule.Curb fundamental rights if need be, but we need some strong men at the top who can take strong decisions ... that's a definite call of the hour.
